Finally, you guys got yourself enough time to introspect about certain things been happening every single time, OVERTHINKING
!!!Yes, you heard it right!As most of the time we overdo same thoughts again and again in a repetitive manner which not only disturbs or distracts us but also affect our mental well being in various ways. Overthinking and worrying both are part of day to day human experience and to some extent its fine but when unbridled, they can hamper one’s mind on daily basis.What is overthinking actually mean ?
Overthinking can be a way in which our mind engages itself into thinking about and analyzing in more harmful way rather in a helpful manner thus resulting in exhausting our mental state. Our mind gets more prone to negative thoughts rather than positive one. Overthinking can be both a boon and bane .
Lets take a case of solving tricky mathematical questions , here we actually need to think again and again in order to solve it . But when you get overly concerned about what you said or did something to someone , you get worried about how you are being seen by others and so on , then you could conclude that you might be engaging your mind in overthinking. Overthinking isn’t a disorder rather it’s one of the factors which leads to various kinds of mental disorder , anxiety etc.
Overthinking happens when you start assuming then obsessing and ultimately worrying about those things which may not even holding any reality. You get stressed about such thoughts which may not even of that much concern but still you have been affecting yourself for no reason. We all might have been dealing with this for so long but non of us consider to look upon it and work on it. Getting our mind free from all negativity can lead us to live a positive mind.
Just wanna let you guys know about my version of Overthinking. I have a problem that I don’t even try to share what all I deal, with no one. That’s where the problem actually started , I started to assume a lot of things without even knowing the reality . I even started getting a lot of pessimistic thoughts and doubted my own abilities. Most of us must have faced this phase at times somewhere or the other. We can’t eliminate overthinking entirely as its a natural process of our brain but we can try our level best to get away from all such negative overthinking.
Few ways to keep your mind Relax:
1. Alertness is the beginning of change.
The most important step before you try to cope with overthinking , is to figure out the reason behind such obsession. You need to have a proper idea about that particular thought which is disturbing your mental peace. Self introspection is must. If possible try to make a note of it in a copy or in your phones.
2. Keep yourself engaged in various activity
Put a fullstop to your overthinking by getting yourself involved in various recreation activities , in work or in other activities which you enjoy doing. This helps in creating a positive vibe and thus you can get yourself out from overthinking.
3. Meditation
Meditation is very much essential in keeping mind fresh . Make a regular habit to practice meditation as it help in clearing your mind by turning your attention inward. There are plenty of resources available over in internet regarding meditation.
4. Acknowledge your own success
Try to acknowledge even a very small thing you must have achieved. This helps in increasing positive attitude towards one oneself. This will help in developing an optimistic approach towards every other thing.
5. Encounter your Fear
Look for various opportunities where you can face the situation you do fear. Something which had happened can’t get changed but if you accept it and try your level best to confront it then you can surely get rid of your fear and thus prevents from overthinking.
6. Seek for medical help
Even after trying above all since a very long time ,you are still unable to get rid of your fear which ultimately leading to your overthinking then the best way is to seek help from various therapist and expertise on this field. You will get a proper guidance and thus this will surely help you develop new ways to deal with your thoughts and eventually changing your mindset.
